Warning Signs of Stroke

P581

There is a mild “warning stroke” in one out of every 8 strokes. This is commonly known as a transient ischemic attack or TIA.

During a TIA, the symptoms would include slurred speech, facial, leg and arm weakness and confusion. It would normally last for less than 24 hours and then resolve.

If one does not have a warning stroke, one were more likely to have a more serious stroke. Those with no warning were also more likely to die or have a heart attack while at the hospital.

People who are older having diabetes, high blood pressure an heart problems are more likely to have a warning stroke.

Any person who experiences even a minor stroke should get to the emergency room immediately.
