Battling Depression 4 – Get Away & Stay Positive

Now to Part 4 of the topic of battling depression:

Getting away from it like taking a walk in the nearby park with green nature or even go for a short holiday to de-stress and get out from the environment that could be responsible for bringing you down.

It will help you to think more objectively when you are relaxed an will be thinking better and more rationally.

Changing the environment would probably give you a new perspective in life and be motivated to move on.

Now, talking about motivation, you got to do some simple daily activities to rebuild your self confidence and self esteem like positive self talks or engage in reading positive self help books.

Again, I can vouch for it the importance of reading self help books because whenever I feel down because of work or some issues that I have with the family, I always turn to books for solutions and de-stress.

Such thinking can build upon itself and help you fight feelings of loss or failure or stress that is associated with this economy.

I always say that stress is sometimes self inflicted because we always tend to react to circumstances where we have no control about and what we should actually do is to be proactive in facing this economic downturn by starting something to do.

If you have no idea what would you like to do, why not join us for a business presentation on Fridays to see if this could be a business for you.

Battling Depression 2 – Get Some Exercise

This is Part 2 of the series of Battling Depressions.

In this blog post, we will talk about getting some exercise.

Exercise has been shown not only to improve the function of the brain triggering the production of endorphins, which are terms as natural pain relievers, released through physical exertion, it is also a healthy way to vent emotions.

Exercising helps in stabilizing the neurotransmitter levels in a person’s brain that leads to improving a person’s mood.

I can vouch for this because whenever I am in a mind block or feeling down, a trip to the stadium or gym always get me back to my problem solving state or the feel good feeling.

Therefore, if you exercise regularly, you will start to reinforce a positive mindset.

Stay tuned for more blog posts on how to battle the doldrums in this economic downturn.

Battling Depression 1 – Watching A Funny Movie

These will be a series of blog posts to probably assist you in battling depression especially in the time of an economic downturn now.

The best way to fight the blues is to try to lighten your mood but it is much easier said than done.

There are a few suggestions though.

    Watch A Funny Movie

Our facial muscles are relaxed when we laugh or smile and that sends a message to our brain that we are happy and the pleasure that is felt during a process like this makes us want to laugh even more.

Not only does laughter help to regulate our blood pressure, it may even decrease the level of stress creating hormones in our body.

At the same time, it increases the amount of blood flow to the lungs and heart and boost the energy level as a result.

Regular hearty laughter will help in the improvement of our immune system.

Socially, laughing can also bring people closer together and reinforces a sense of support for one who are feeling the blues.

There are health professionals in countries like the US who believe the therapeutic benefits of laughter yoga and laughter therapy whom are incorporating laughter therapy into their programmes.

Stay tuned for future blog posts on how you too can battle the doldrums.
