Prevention Of Osteoporosis Starts Young
High intake of dairy foods like cheese and high protein food in childhood results in healthier and stronger bones in adolescence.
Studies have shown that kids who take at least 2 servings of dairy foods everyday had denser bones than their peers when they reach their teens and eating 5 or more servings of meat or other high protein foods boosted the bone density as well.
There have been mixed results of the studies on effects of calcium supplements and dairy foods but since most of these studies have been relatively short, the results of the studies of dairy’s long term benefits will come most likely from the diets of children for many years.
Children whom were followed since 1987 when they were 3 to 5 years’ old up to 1999 and these study participants who had an average of 2 or more servings of dairy foods during their childhood had higher mineral contents and density in their bones as compared to those who had less. And children who had 4 or more servings of protein source or meat had also denser bones.
It seems to be that dairy and protein have a positive effect with children ending up having denser and larger bones.
The study findings confirms how important is it to have a rich in dairy and protein diet on adolescent bones.
Besides taking dairy and high protein diet, one can consider to take calcium supplement like Bonemate or protein powder supplement like Soy Protein.
Whatever it is, whether in diets or supplements, starts young when it comes to the prevention of osteoporosis.

Osteoporosis is very common specially in old persons. Food supplementation with calcium and magnesium helps a lot to slow down osteoporosis. “;’
