<p>My friends have been wondering, why am I able to eat and drink so much and still have a slim belly. </p>

<p>In the World Health Organization estimation, there are more than 22 million children who are under the age of 5 who are overweight.</p>
<p>Even in Singapore, we are also seeing the increase of obese students in primary schools to junior colleges from 2.8 percent to 3.6 percent within a period 13 years.</p>
<p>The main reason of this challenge that we are facing of obesity is mainly because of the lack of exercise, sedentary lifestyle and poor diet causing more and more children to become obese.</p>
<p>Hospitals, schools and various different groups are launching weight management programs for these kids and emphasizing group activities to promote interaction and mutual support between the kids.</p>
<p>The most important thing to help the kids to achieve their desired fat loss is the emotional and family support from the parents.  The parents are responsible in guiding their children to healthy lifestyle.</p>

<p>There was a new study conducted that shows rats who ate a rich diet of blueberries loses abdominal fat that are linked to diabetes and heart disease.</p>
<p>Besides that, even if it was on a high fat diet, there are other health benefits like improved glucose control and lowered cholesterol.</p>
<p><span id="more-692"></span>The results could be due to the antioxidant rich blueberries that are changing the way the body stores and processes sugar or glucose for energy. This could in turn lower the risk of getting diabetes and heart diseases.</p>
<p>Anthocyanins, that are found in blueberries shows promising results in mitigating these health conditions.</p>
<p>Rats that were in the 90 days study, were fed a low fat diet in combination with blueberry powder has lesser abdominal fat, improved glucose control and lower cholesterol.</p>

<p>However, what you eat for breakfast also counts if you will be slimmer.</p>
<p><span id="more-689"></span>The results of a study following some 12,000 adults show that people who takes breakfast has an average fewer calories per day than people who skip breakfast. Women who takes breakfast also has a lower BMI than those who don&#8217;t.</p>
<p>The drawback that researchers found was that as the calories for the day increase, so do calories and fat for the entire day.</p>
<p>Out of those who were studied, 17 percent had a meal replacement drink or bar or pastry or other items that did not fit into the food groups of fruit, grain, vegetable, meat and dairy could also see their calorie intake increase.</p>
<p>While eating breakfast is a good thing, it would be much better if people could start with a low calories breakfast.</p>
