Obesity can have severe health problems and what are these problems?

Heart attack, high blood pressure, diabetes, etc. are some of the common diseases.

Losing weight can help reduce these risks. Apart from that, a fit body makes better personality. At work or at social places also, obesity proves to be a major problem. However, losing weight isn’t that easy. Therefore, people look for quick fix solutions like “Eat All You Want and Still Lose Weight!” or “Melt Fat Away while you sleep!” They are ready to put their faith and money in all types of pills, medicines, devices, and programs that assure them of a beautiful, slim and fit body.

Generally:

No weight loss is possible effortlessly. Weight gain happens when intake of calories is more than their consumption. To lose weight, this trend should be reversed.

Very low-calorie diets are risky without medical supervision. There is every possibility of loss of important nutrients from the body and that can be even more dangerous.

Crash dieting surely reduces weight quickly, but gains are equally quick with “rebound” when normal diet is restored.

Weight loss should be gradual ideally, one pound per week. This can be achieved by curtailing nearly 500 calories per day.

Many people pin their hopes on medicines that guarantee to “burn,” “block,” “flush,” or otherwise reduce fat from their body. However, scientifically, such magical pills are still a distant dream. Some pills that promise to control the appetite can have severe side effects. The Food and Drug Administration has prohibited over one hundred and eleven such constituents that were found in OTC diet products.

However, this doesn’t mean that there is no escape from rigorous exercise routine or feeing hungry all the daylong. While it’s correct, that due to the high profits attached with the weight-loss industry, many useless products are being sold in the market, not all are ineffective. It’s only for the customers to find out the right product for them. No product can create a magic to change your body shape in a short span. Anybody who guarantees that is a fake. Even best of the products in the market like Bios Life Slim advise at least six weeks time to show initial results while the full effect can be experienced in about three months time.

Such products actually reduce the body capacity to store the fats. Ingredients like Biosphere Fiber and Unicity 7x help in maintaining the body fat balance. Products containing these ingredients are consumed along with the meals and it is recommended that such products should be included as part of the meals on regular basis. That helps in maintaining the weight balance.

Usually, such products are fiber rich drinks and are considered food grade items. There shouldn’t be any stimulants in such products. An important point that customers should take note before buying a weight-loss product is whether it has passed clinical testing and had positive results.

Positive clinical results assure the credibility of the product

More ways to assure the credibility of the product include looking for Kosher Certification or whether the product/base product is listed among Physicians Desk Reference or not. This will ensure that the product has no side effects. Moreover, quality products like Bios Life Slim have added advantages. Therefore, customers should also check what other benefits they can derive from their weight-loss product e.g. higher energy level, better cholesterol levels, controlled blood sugar, controlled glycemic food index, better lipid profiles etc.

As a word of caution, anybody undergoing medication or pregnant women should consult their physicians before initiating such product based weight loss programs. Even the diabetics can consume products containing artificial sweeteners like Sucralose (FDA approved). However, they will need to monitor their blood sugar.

In a world of marketing gimmicks, it is very important for the customers to first research the products and then take their own decision to find the best one. Consulting the physician is always a good option. Such products are suitable for customers who can’t exercise regularly due to medical problems or due to scarcity of time. Almost all the experts will agree that there is no better alternative for weight reduction than exercise. Fat loss products like Bios Life Slim are alternatives to lead a healthy life style if one is not able to do the things required to keep healthy.

During my trip to Western Australia for a vacation few weeks ago, I was quite surprised to see that the percentage of obese people in Australia seems to be growing as compared to what I have seen 3 years ago when I went there for holidays.

According to a lady that I was communicating via email from Albany, she mentioned that the obesity rate in Australia could even be higher than those from US.

This is really alarming!

When I was moving around in Western Australia, I notice that there are more and more fast food outlets as compared to what I have seen a few years ago. Or perhaps I was not focusing so much on helping individuals to lose fat and slim down that I did not notice it before.

If you know of individuals in Australia who are interested in losing fat and slim down, you can ask them to get in touch with me and I would be glad to provide more information.

While for long it was being postulated that fast food increased obesity, due to lack of any substantiated evidence, it was difficult to convince others on this issue. However, some of the recent studies have not just proved it but also put it beyond doubt that fast food in fact increased obesity. These studies have published in journals like Public Health Nutrition (January 2007) and American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (January 2007).

During their study, scholars have found that – “families whose meals frequently consist of fast food are more likely to have unhealthy eating habits, poor access to healthy foods at home, and a higher risk for obesity”. (AJCN Jan. 2007)

The study also established a positive correlation between a higher frequency of fast food dinners and obesity and a higher body mass index (BMI) in adults.

In another study looking for a correlation between fast food and body mass index, Dr. Barry M. Popkin of the University of North Carolina and his team found that the fast food consumption had a direct impact on an individual’s health so much so that it could convert a non-diabetic to diabetic. This study also compared the increase in body mass index (BMI) of fast food eaters and those eating at traditional restaurants. In case of traditional restaurants, the studies couldn’t establish a correlation between food and BMI.

More studies, particularly the one conducted by Kavnagh and her team found that the fat content in burgers and French fries could make one fatter by nearly 1/3 with same calorie count in other food. The study, which was conducted on monkeys over a period of six years, confirmed that the monkeys who were fed on fast food had 30% more fat around their bellies.

These studies have just confirmed the trends, which were already visible. With the spread of fast food culture, obesity has also spread. Obesity has reached the proportion of epidemic in the U.S. It is also said that people have chosen this kind of lifestyle and they are now facing the consequences. The easy availability of fast food and tempting aroma and tastes have led to mushroomed growth of fast food outlets. Add to that aggressive advertising strategies adopted by the industry have increased the consumer base by manifolds and so has been the growth of obesity.

Fast foods items are usually fried preparations and increase problems like indigestion and acidity. This type of food also acts as retarding agent for Metabolic functioning due to recurrent intake of fast foods that can result in unrestrained overeating tendencies, which are undoubtedly one of the major causes of obesity. More than twice consumed fast food in a week can increase weight by over ten pounds. Therefore it’s in one’s own interest to avoid it.

While, the fast food companies are doing a little to check their unhealthy practices, awareness has also led to imposition of ban on trans-fat in countries like Denmark. New York City is also going to impose certain restrictions on such unhealthy food.

However, these are just a few of the isolated cases. Fast food industry is growing and obesity is growing. The big question is how long this can be allowed to happen. These big companies on the basis of their wide networks and multinational presence are bound to spread these killer diseases like diabetes and heart problems through obesity before they are not permanently stopped.

Generally, fast food restaurants serve food that is very low in fiber content. Consumers can add fiber content to their food by adding weight loss products like Bios Life Slim or other similar products, which are otherwise healthy options and balance their diet.

Health experts make some recommendations towards healthy eating habits like:

Say No to foods like doughnuts, burgers, fries, sugar cereals, processed meat or canned soup, etc.

Take small and frequent meals instead of few large meals

Make fruits, green vegetables and pulses part of in your diet

Alcoholic beverages and artificially sweetened beverages are also fattening.
