What your doctor doesn’t know about nutritional medicine may be killing you

In an interesting book “What Your Doctor Doesn’t Know About Nutritional Medicine May Be Killing You“, written by Dr Ray Strand, he talks about the following:

  1. How to turbo charge your body’s natural healing power
  2. How elevated levels of homocysteine contributes to causes of heart attacks
  3. What medical evidence really indicates about the root cause of many diseases
  4. The anti aging strategy now and protect against the dark side of oxygen

In the early stage before Dr. Strand was exposed to nutritional supplements, his wife Liz was diagnosed with having Fibromyalgia that was also called Psychosomatic Rheumatism.  The health of Dr. Strand was deteriorating and even with countless pharmaceutical interventions, the quality of her life was greatly reduced.

At a point in time, one of their friends were asking Liz to try out the nutritional supplements comprising mainly of vitamins and antioxidants and surprisingly after a couple of months, Liz health greatly improved.

Dr. Strand states that approximately, only 6 percent of the graduating physicians in the US have any training in nutrition.  The education of most physicians is disease oriented with a heavy emphasis on pharmaceuticals – learning about drugs and why and when to use them.  Ever since he had seen a great improvement on his wife’s health, he embarked on a journey to study more about nutritional supplements and how it can helped people.

Within the book, Dr. Strand covers how many simple nutritional supplements like:

  • Vitamin B6 and folic acid can help reduce homocysteine level
  • Vitamin C prevents the development of cataracts in the eyes
  • Glucosamine relieving joint pains

Is “What Your Doctor Doesn’t Know About Nutritional Medicine May Be Killing You” a good read?  Do not be a follower of anything; be a student instead.  You do not have to trust everything that the book says but do your own due diligence, analyze it and develop your own true facts about it.  I find it quite interesting though.
